to elect a new pope will be held by the end of march. president obama reportedly is preparing to announce new reductions to the country's arsenal of nuclear weapons. in his state of the union address tuesday night, obama is expected to announce plans to cut the number of deployed warheads to just over 1000. one-third reduction from the current number of around 1700. a former l.a. police officer accused of killing three people after posting a revenge and a faster online remains on the loose in california. on friday, the lapd announced it would reopen a probe into the incident that caused the former officer, christopher dorner, to lose his job. dorner was fired in 2008 for making false statements after he complained his training officer had kicked a mentally ill suspect during an arrest. in a statement announcing the new investigation, the lapd to said it would be reexamined. at a news conference, commander smith said the police department is not seeking to appease dorner, but encouraging transparency. >> we're not opening it up because of the accusations or the musings of someone who is a

everybody. during the state of the union address, president obama talked about fixing the nation's infrastructure. things like the 70,000 or so structurally deficient bridges across the country. he emphasized the need to get these projects done with a combination of public and private funds and using american workers. to hear the republican senate leader. mitch mcconnell who in president obama's first term said it was his number one priority to defeat the president. not to get people working or the economy going. i hope he gives the president a chance tonight. the president's goal is to lay out a plan to grow the economy with respect to the sequester. the president's been very clear it would be irresponsible and reck tols allow the sequester to take place. we now know from the budget office it would cost us hundreds of thousands of jobs if we don't find a smarter way to reduce that deficit over a longer period of time. democrats in the house have put forward a concrete plan to substitute for the sequester for the remainder of the year. unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to vote on it over here but hopefully the president's speech tonight will lay out a plan that some of the republican colleagues will agree to join with us in trying to pass. >> and then last hour, as you well know, the rally outside of the capitol, number of union workers we're told roughly 300 supporters joined in chanting sequest
